Adam sat on top of his hoarse and made his way down the road. He liked summer because he was able to ride places rather than drive. He could ride in the winter too but it was much less pleasant for both himself and his horse. His dog, Tanner padded along behind them taking his time. Every once in a while he’d turn off the road and go explore in the brush before returning at another point along the road. Adam had heard there was a hoarse stable in Silver Lake so he thought he’d go have a look and see if they had any job openings. He had only been in town a few weeks and he had just started getting to know where things were.
He looked ahead on the road, he could see the stables now. He turned his big Percheron, Belgian cross into the driveway and slid off her back. He led her down towards the barns, it was morning so if anyone was around they would probably be doing chores. “Hello?” he called out as he got closer to the buildings, not wanting to startle anyone. Ruby rested her massive head on Adam’s shoulder, he reached up and stroked her cheek while he waited for someone to reply.

Isis was carrying a large pail of feed when she heard the voice come from outside the barn. She sat the sweet feed down away from her large Friesian's hungry reach and stepped outside in the chilly air.
She stepped forward and saw a young man in front of the stables with a large, beautiful mare and a cute little dog. "Hello! Can I help you?"

Adam didn’t have to wait long before someone came from inside the stable. He smiled and nodded his head, still stroking his mare’s face "Yeah, I’m looking for the owner. Are you her? I’m looking for a job, if there are any available" he explained in his usual friendly voice. He could do just about anything around a stable, he was a hard worker. The last couple of weeks not having a job had been complete torture, if he hadn’t been so busy unpacking and getting to know the area he would have gone crazy. Tanner sprung forward, wagging his tail and sat at the woman's feet with his tong hanging out one side of his mouth. Adam watched the dog for a second before looking at Isis again to wait for her response. Ruby stood quietly with her eyes half closed while Adam continued to pet her. The fact that she didn’t get excited easily was one of the reasons Adam loved his horse so much.

Isis knelt down and scratched the dog behind his ears.
"Yes, I'm the owner! Isis Delareaux, nice to meet you!" She stood and shook hands with the man and took a step back.
"And I'm so glad you asked! I'm in desperate need of help! It's been really hard having to care for all the horses on my own. What position are you looking for, Mister....?"

Tanner wagged his tail when she leaned down to scratch behind his ears. Once she was finnished he got up and scampered off to go explore. He wouldn't go far, he was always in ear shot. Adam smiled, shaking her hand. He was glad to hear she needed the help, he liked to work. Still, running a stable all by one's self would have been no easy task. He shruged when she asked what position he wanted. "Well, someone around town said you were looking for a breeding assistant" he said. "I was born on a horse farm and I'v been working with horses sense I was a kid so I could do that plus anything else you need until you get more help" he offered with a happy grin at the thought of having a job.

"Yes, I am! It's getting time for a couple of my mares to be bred and I need some help with the process." Isis motioned for Adam to follow. "Come on, you can help me feed the horses and we can talk while we feed. Plus I'll introduce you to our animals."

Adam nodded and followed her. He was relieved to have a job now, he would have an outlet for his energy and maybe he could make some friends now too. Adam stoped before he entered the stable, remembering Ruby was behind him "Is there some place i can stick Ruby until im done?" he asked. "She gets along fine with other horses" he said looking over at his big mare.

"Yeah! You can put her in this empty stall here." She unlatched a stall door beside a large Friesian stallion and stood back so Adam could put his mare inside.
"Don't worry, Cassis will flirt but he won't hurt her. He's a big baby." She patted the horse on the side of the neck and headed towards a small bulding.
"This is where I keep the horse feed locked up, so they don't break into it. And over here..." Isis walked over to another building and opened the door. "This is the tack room. I keep all the saddles, bridles, shoes, brushes and all that good stuff in here."

Adam nodded and lead Ruby into the stall next to the stallion "Alright" he said with a smile as he looked over at the beautiful black stallion who stood in the stall next to his mare. He then followed Isis to the small building and nodded, he was a hard worker. He would be sure to remember everything she told him. He then followed her to the tack room, mentaly noteing where everything was placed. "Alright" he nodded with a smile. He also wanted to meet the horses he was going to work with, he was surprised how excited he actually was about his new job.
