Name: Shinji Amano
Nickname: Tora
Age: 28
Gender: Male
Job: Stablehand
Appearance:
Personality: Tora's a pretty easygoing guy, but he does have his temper when things go wrong, or when you do something that offends him. Deliberately treat a horse improperly and it'll be the last thing you ever do for awhile. Since he never has been too outspoken, animals have always been his thing, so he makes sure that they're cared for properly and aren't harmed. This goes not only for his own two horses at the stable, but the horses of others who stay at the stable. If there are any signs of mistreatment he'll watch closely until he's proven either right or wrong.
When he's not obsessing over his horses, Tora enjoys nature to its fullest and will oftentimes go for long walks or horseback rides with his canine companion right by his side to protect him. It's what he enjoys doing most other than working at the stable, and he knows that his canine loves it as well.
Besides his two horses and his dog, Tora has four barn cats that hang around the stable during the day and come home with him to his cabin at night. One of them even likes to ride on the back of his horses whenever he's riding one of them. It's truly an interesting sight to see, and even Tora is amused by it though he sees it day after day.

History: Tora grew up in the shadow of his older brother, and while this wasn't too bad, it always left him as the child his parents never boasted on to their friends, or if they did they would always compare it to his older brother's achievements. Both of his parents were very avid business people, so with Tora's older brother they already had the heir that they needed. Tora was more of an investment should something happen to his older brother.
Because nothing ever did happen, Tora was able to go off and do his own thing when he was eighteen just as most kids do. Since he was raised traveling between his mother's native home, America, and his father's, Japan, he was fluent in both languages and he used that to his advantage for awhile as he moved to California and worked as a translator. This quickly became boring, but right as he was about to give it up at age 19 and move on to something else he met Ai, a Japanese woman who had came over here to start a new life, but she didn't know a speck of English. She was two years older than he was, but the two of them seemed to gravitate towards each other.
Within a span of two years they got to know each other and started dating. Then two years after that Ai got pregnant and the two of them married. The pregnancy was harsh and served to push the two of them apart no matter how much Tora tried to be supportive.
When Mitsukai was born Tora and Ai had two very different views of her. Tora was totally infatuated with his daughter and wanted to be around her all the time to care for and protect her. She was his star, as he would put it and she fell asleep on his chest more times than she slept in her crib as a baby. However, Ai wasn't as thrilled by her. She did not take to motherhood well at all and she rejected her daughter almost since birth. That's what eventually led to their divorce a year later and Tora taking his daughter with him as he moved farther north to Oregon, then Washington, and finally Alaska. Tora settled there when he was twenty-five and Mitsukai was two.
The two of them have been there ever since and unlike Tora was worried about, Mitsukai has taken to the Alaskan wilderness happily, and with open arms. Like Tora animals are her passion and she's always seen either toddling after one of the cats, or pestering Max. Tora even allows her around the horses because for some strange reason none of them even exhibited signs of wishing to harm her, even his wild stallion, Adonis.
