Name: Atka
Age: 5 Years
Gender: Male
Species: Wolf
Breed: Mackenzie Valley/Arctic/Timber
Appearance:
Height: 33"
Personality: Atka lives up to his name gracefully. He guards his fellow wolves and keeps humans from hunting them as well as he can. He is unafraid to go into human territory, though he tries to make it seem that way so the humans won't fear him as they do any wild animal that doesn't care about coming up to human homes and streets without fear of being injured.
He comes off as being rather distant and a bit cold at times, but he is truly good-hearted and he loves protecting his brethren. Ever since the death of his mate of two years he has become increasingly more intuned with what he has to do to keep himself and the others safe from harm. His young pups are well cared for by him and a female he chose to watch them when he wasn't around. Safety is his main priority. Especially for his family, and not just his immediate family. This means all the wolves in which he guards over as his place as lead wolf.

History: Atka was born deep in the mountains next to a rushing river that he used to put himself to sleep many a times when he was there by himself since he was an only pup. It was a beautiful place to be brought up and that is where he keeps his young hidden from the humans that might wish to capture or injure them. It is a place he is well familiar with and he doesn't doubt that at least one of his children will end up using the den as well when they have pups.
He achieved his recent status about three years ago when he had just reached mature age. His fearless demeanor in fending off a human trying to shoot at a pregnant female that Atka didn't even know earned him status among the other wolves and with more and more similar incidents he soon found himself head of all of wolf packs of the region.
Sadly enough not even he could protect his mate from the death she suffered at the hands of humans. She was dutifully protecting her pups, hiding them away so the humans wouldn't see them, but she had a reluctance to leave them there alone and that's how she met her fate. She exposed herself to them on accident and they did nothing short of shooting her. When Atka returned from his hunting trip, all he found was three whimpering, two-week-old cubs and the strong scent of his mate's blood.
Atka pursued the smell, thinking she was only injured and captured, but when he arrived, he saw the horror of them skinning her for her pelt and hearing the humans laugh heartily at the money they would be receiving for her fur. Upset and traumatized, Atka traveled back to his children, nuzzling them and quietening them, knowing he couldn't care for them on his own. He sought out a lone wolf he had met with awhile back and luckily she had just given birth recently to a young malamute's puppy. Since Atka didn't mind the mating, the female, Mitsuna, was all too eager to repay him by feeding his young for the four weeks left of their milking time.
Now with the cubs being about four months old, Atka is doing his best to provide and care for them without letting his grief overcome him, for all three of his children favor his deceased mate, sometimes making it hard for him to look at them. This shames him, but since the cubs aren't aware, he says nothing to them about it.
